My weekend was good! Visited family over dinner, went running, picked up some plants and seeds from an awesome edible plant sale held by Tilth (there's another one coming up in May, learn more here) and planted them all on Sunday. Feels so good to get our garden going again. Unlike last year when it got a little messy, we plan on being more careful this time around by ensuring that everything is properly watered and groomed. We planted sage, horseradish, chard, kale, onions and asparagus along with a bunch of other seeds for corn, peas, cilantro, beets, and carrots. We chose a few vegetables that we haven't planted before, so I'm really looking forward to how it all turns out. We will see! Also, I need to thank my wonderful husband for being such an amazing cook all weekend, he nailed every meal!

Favorite new dish:
Fresh/organic Golden and Red Beets -sliced and steamed
Honey Crisp Apple -sliced and topped with squeezed lemon juice
Pine Nuts -lightly toasted in the oven
Goat Cheese

Dinner.
The first few photos are from this really sweet community garden I recently discovered on Capital Hill (I love community gardens, especially in the city, tucked in between apartment buildings). The last two photos are from our garden. We've been making salads with the peas that have sprouted and, as you might have guessed, we're pretty proud of them.

So, I found my favorite place for garden supplies and I'm also equally crazy about their website. If you go to their sale section and click all sale, after scrolling down a bit they have a bunch of chairs, and instead of showing just one chair of the set, they show all 4 together, it's really cute. Anyway, really great stuff, see for yourself!

Seattle was warmer this weekend, I spent a lot of time outside, which was very refreshing. Andrew built a small greenhouse out of old windows that's going to house dill, basil, chives, rosemary, catnip (for lucas), and tarragon, should be good. He also completed building a moped from scratch which is very exciting for me, because it's going to be the one I ride when it gets warmer out. A few more highlights: buying some more high waisted pants, happy hour with some fine ladies, and brunch at the Dahlia Lounge. Hope you had a super duper weekend as well! Love, -n
