Kansas Quilt by Maura Grace Ambrose.
"The design was inspired by the great plains of Kansas where the land gradually rises from East to West. The strips of fabric in the quilt mimic rows of wheat, sorghum, and sunflower crops. The five columns in the quilt create a middle row representing the geographical location of Kansas within the United States between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans."
