My new favorite coffee drink is a skinny "white velvet" from my already favorite coffee shop on Capital Hill, Vivace. If you're in the area, get one, seriously, it's a magic latte. The white velvet was followed by breakfast at the Hi-Spot Cafe, where I had a breakfast burrito and a fruit cup. I hate to throw 'favorite' out there so much, but the Hi-Spot Cafe is one of my favorite places to have breakfast because, for starters, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, atleast I haven't. Not only is their food good (they have the best scones, get one warmed up with raspberry jam on top), there's a paper coffee cup signed by Conan O'Brien in a glass case hanging on the wall, the employees are cute, it's located in Madrona where there's a bunch of neat shops around, and it has a ton of character because it's in an old craftsman style house -I'm pretty sure the bathroom has an old claw foot tub in it. Anyway, after breakfast, when it was even nicer out, I continued my perfect city-date by walking around downtown, stopping in at the market, having cocktails on a roof-top, riding mopeds to Georgetown, and finishing the evening with a Paul Newman movie "the Hustler." Paul Newman was (and always will be) so so so great.. That was my 3rd (late 50's early 60's) Paul Newman movie in the last two weeks. Seattle, when it wants to, can be perfect.
